Transient Ischaemic Episodes

Dear Doctor,
This is regarding my father who is 85 now. He is still capable of handling himself & his own work. An year back,he had been identified with very little excessive cholestrol & currently being taken doasage of 10mg of atorvastatin (sorry if i typed it wrong) per day.
This incident happend on last Saturday. He waked up with some body uncomfortability/lack of body energy in the morning & had been on the bed most of the time. At about 10am in the morining he tried to sit on a chair, for having a cup of "Kottamalii". Then as sudden he went fainted, unconsious i would say, without answering any questions from us. We managed to held him recumbent & this went along only for less than 2 minutes, & then he recovered with few round of coughes. I should say there were no sweating symptoms at any moment. Then he had been sleeping for the whole day & even most of the time dayafter without being involving any day to day activities.
We met DMO of the area next day, and my fathre was more or less Ok when he inspected him with all tiny physical activities assigned to him. There Dr. suggested kind of micro stroke or some thing similar and prescibed an additional pill,(sorry i cannot remember the name), daily 75mg that helps blood circuilation.
This is the latest incident that we observed & there was one more incident of same observetions 2 months back where he felt down during the night and slept the whole night again without even knowing to rest of the family members. At that time Urine seemd to have passed without his concent. As for now we could realise several other fainting occasions during last few years time.
Today he seemed to be Ok, but not so fit as he used to be.

I'm sorry for being such long. But please answer my questions below mentioned with.
1. How do you describe the above ill condition.?
2. What else we could do (Consultations/Tests/ treatments/ safety precautions) in order to avoid any such incident here after & keep him fit as he used to be.

Thank you very very much
