I fell ill! Yes, sometimes doctors fall sick too. When I become sick ( which is a very rare event by any standard ), I really become very sick. I could not go to work the whole week this time. Fever, nausea, runny nose, diarrhoea, looks like a bad viral infection. I feel terrible.

I am so accustomed to get up everyday and go to hospital, and deviation of that routine is very distressing.

I feel sorry for the patients that come to clinics and theatre lists, although there will be someone to cover the work. I feel guilty.

Is this just me, or all/most doctors feel this way?

I am sure being absent from work when you are really, really sick is quite understandable thing. No big deal! But why do I keep feeling sorry?

You need to tame your mind I suppose. Yes when I go back to work, I will work twice as hard! That should make me happy!!!!
